Inter Have Three Goals Away, Palacio Optimistic Passed
Glasgow – Inter Milan striker Rodrigo Palacio did not deny that his team performed poorly in the draw with Celtic FC. But the advantage gained three away goals make sure Palacio Inter could qualify.
In the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 at Celtic Park, Friday (20/02/2015) pm dawn, Inter had to settle for a draw. Was winning twice, the Nerazzurri finally forced to go home with a draw 3-3.
Inter actually started the game well after Xherdan Shaqiri and Palacio put the visitors 2-0 up after just 13 minutes. But Celtic reply by scoring within one minute to make a re-draw position.
Palacio had put Inter back ahead ahead of the first half ended. But John Guidetti derail Inter’s victory over the tally in injury time.
Failed to win, Palacio also admitted that Inter did not perform optimally. But three away goals acquired Argentine striker optimistic Inter could finish by winning ticket away when the second leg in Giueseppe Meazza on 26 February.
“It’s a bit strange game. We started well and then when 2-0 we made too many mistakes. They started confidently and successfully equalized,” Palacio said as quoted by the official club website.
“However, I still think this is a decent draw because we had three goals away. There’s 90 minutes left, we were at home and we had to get a result to qualify.”
“I am optimistic. We will be playing in front of our own fans and if we perform and play like we can, we will win,” he said optimistically.
